About Us
Action DD is a 501(c)(4) non-profit corporation licensed in the state of Washington. We are concerned families, friends and professionals who work to preserve a full continuum of services for people with developmental disabilities. Paramount among these services are state operated RHCs (Residential Habilitation Centers) that provide specialized professional services for those in need of close care.
We are in agreement with the Supreme Court Olmstead decision that says, "The ADA [Americans with Disabilities Act] is not reasonably read to impel States to phase out institutions [RHCs], placing patients in need of close care at risk." Action DD volunteers give their time and money so that our state legislature, the bureaucracy and care providers have a better understanding of the needs of people with developmental disabilities. Only with your contributions can we continue to employ top quality lobbyists. These are the people who represent you and our RHCs in Olympia every day. Action DD leaders and volunteers receive no compensation. You are invited to join this important advocacy. Click here to join |
